[...] By judging others less on their appearance, and stopping the constant comparison of myself to them, I was able to begin the work of accepting my body, and end the cycle of constant dieting/deprivation/calorie counting that has made me miserable for so many years.
Thank you Molly. Your comments offer a lot of wisdom, and self reflection. This may be the first Love Your Body Day, but I can guarantee it won't be the last!

thank you so much for your article, for creating celebrate your body today!! If I am honest with everyone & myself, most importantly... I am not totally happy with my body... but at age 53 I deeply appreciate and respect my body for all that it does for me & how it has carried me to this time in my life.
I am very comfortable in my skin, and I am not concerned by what others think or say about my body shape or size, I am adjusting to moving some what slower, which for someone who has always been very physical & active, is where
most of my "unhappy" comes from....I may not be as sleek & thin as I once was, but I am much wiser, I am also much more loving & caring to my body then I was in my youth.

Right ON, lady! What a comprehensive look at body-acceptance and self-respect. I'm especially glad you touched on clothes. So many women hate themselves because they no longer fit into their clothes ... and don't realize that just getting some clothes that fit and flatter their bodies TODAY can ease that stress. We've got to dress for our today bodies, and worry about clothing our future bodies in the future!
