Pack Some Punch With Your Purse

Gone is all the metallic hardware on handbags. This spring, the new look comes from bright punchy colors, or as Nordstrom designates on their web site, Electric Hues. Now if you’re like I have always been in the past, you might shy away from bright, attention-grabbing colors. But that’s exactly what I am going to tell you not to do. It’s time to come out of your shell and show off a little self confidence with your accessories.
Now, if this gorgeous Marc Jacob ‘Dr. Q Lil Riz’ Croc Hobo is not in your budget, and you want to spring for a luxury handbag at Nordstrom, be my guest. But I am not all the interested in personallly spending a lot of money on passing fashion, even if I do want to have a little fun with it. Luckily, there are lots of great options for fun punchy handbags this spring that won’t leave your wallet empty.
This Franco Sarto Candyland Tote in Lime was love at first site for me. I must say the picture doesn’t quite do the color justice. It is actually much brighter. I came across it in Macy’s while waiting on a dinner reservation, and it caught my attention immediately. I had been on the prowl for a new handbag and was ready to move away from the typical black or brown variations I always go with. My problem was finding a handbag that looked fun on the outside, but had enough pockets and compartments to reign in the chaos that usually exists in my bags. This bag had it all! After meeting up with my husband (who wasn’t so enamored with the bag as I was), I begrudgingly left the one green one they had left. (It also comes in orange and a multi-colored pattern, but my heart was set on green). But like a star-crossed lover, I could not get this bag out of my mind, and the next day I ended up at another mall where I could resist the temptation no longer. We have been happily together ever since.
Nine West has a really great selection of bags in fun colors, and the Nine West Color Wheel Hobo caught my eye too. My only complaint is there aren’t enough compartments, but if you don’t mind throwing all your stuff into the depths of your bag, this one could be just the one for you! Another great option from Nine West is this Bag Habits Large Tote.

And of course, there’s Target. Not only do their own lines keep getting better and better, but with the frequent introduction of lines by big name designers, there is less and less reason to shop anywhere else for your fashion needs. Check out this Xhilaration® Oversized Slouchy Hobo – Yellow .
For something smaller, but still cheerful, this Mossimo® Zoe Hobo – Green could do the trick.
If you trying new colors seems a little too adventurous for you, start with one of the smaller styles. Going out with something bright and cheerful on your shoulder can really add a spring to your step. I dare you! Try it!

I found the Franco Sarto Candyland on sale for $39.99 at Wilson’s Leather.
